We give thanks to the support of you and others.

Friends4Ibrahim is pleased to announce a positive update regarding our friend and brother, Ibrahim Parlak! Immigration Judge Kathryn L. Deangelis has granted Ibrahim's application deferral of removal under the Convention Against Torture, citing evidence that he would more likely than not be tortured by the Turkish government if he were to be removed to their jurisdiction. While this decision does not confer upon Ibrahim any lawful or permanent immigration status in the United States, it is an encouraging development in his ongoing saga of strength and perseverance. Today we give thanks to Judge Kathryn L. Deangelis, and to the thousands of others who have supported Ibrahim throughout his journey.

You can read the full decision here.

Stop the wasteful and unnecessary deportation of Ibrahim Parlak!

Ibrahim Parlak is a Turkish Kurd who was granted asylum by the U.S. in 1991, based on a well-founded fear of persecution in his homeland. Since 1991 he has become a restaurant owner, devoted father to an American citizen daughter, and beloved member of his community in the small town of Harbert, Michigan. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is now seeking to deport Ibrahim back to Turkey, where his life would be at risk. We, the family and friends of Ibrahim in America, want to keep him here where he belongs. Please help us to stop the wasteful and unnecessary deportation of Ibrahim Parlak!
